Our Journey
Our adventure began in late 2018 and continues to thrive. By 2023, Out of Ore became our primary focus.
THE BEGINNING
Christian (Execut) and Kristian (T-Bone) start modding for Farming Simulator 2019 by Giants Software, overcoming challenges in 3D modeling. Their shared passion leads to collaboration.
THE MOD ERA
Encouraged by the community, Execut and T-Bone form North Modding Company, marking a new chapter in mod development. They release their first mods on the Farming Simulator ModHub, gaining quick popularity.
BERGSBRUK
In 2020, North Modding Company launched "Bergsbruk" on Steam, our first standalone PC game. At the same time, our Farming Simulator mods hit 30 million downloads, a major milestone.
OUT OF ORE
We decided to halt further development on "Bergsbruk" to concentrate our efforts on a new game, "Out of Ore".
FOCUS ON OUT OF ORE
"Out of Ore" takes center stage, with Farming Simulator modding stepping back.
This shift reflects the company's ongoing development and progress.
REACHING 100,000 SOLD GAMES
"Out of Ore" achieving 100,000 sales, a testament to the incredible support from our community and the passion and dedication of our small team.
About Us
Our team consists of five dedicated team members. Together, we bring a diverse range of skills to the table, covering everything from programming and 3D modeling to texturing, marketing, and economics.

What People Say

always more to add but the best game Mining, Excavating game out so far between the equipment and factory items and the physics are better then all. Would Be nice to see Tailings ponds added, not under factory but actually buildable usually using natural low spots within the landscape like a dam using usually blast rock then geo fabric then clay to seal it if any money after cap with blast rock to prevent erosion and make a liquid dump point for tailings to fill it. If lakes and rivers were added at some point would have to be diverted for a dam to be completely legally{for fish spawning}. For the bagger bucket wheels add light options closer to the wheel on boom and on counter weight both sides and front on both. Just an idea, worked at mines underground and surface, always more ideas like jumbos for drilling for blasting and water and air needed under ground eventually . just giving ideas {slightly impaired giving review}

I held off on buying Out of Ore for quite a while because I'm usually hesitant to jump into Early Access games too early. I finally decided to give it a shot in April 2026.
500+ hours later... I think it's safe to say I got my money's worth.
Out of Ore has become one of those games where I sit down planning to play for a few hours, and suddenly it's 5am in the morning and I'm still digging or building because "I'll just finish this one project."
What I really enjoy is the freedom the game gives you. You aren't locked into one specific way of mining. You can plan out a proper operation, move massive amounts of dirt, chase ore, build roads, set up conveyors and equipment, or completely overcomplicate a simple job because apparently that's more fun. Watching a mine slowly transform from untouched ground into a huge working operation is incredibly satisfying.
The equipment is a huge part of what keeps me coming back. There's something genuinely enjoyable about running the excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, baggers, and all the other machinery, especially once you start building an operation where everything works together. The physics and equipment have continued to improve, and the developers have been steadily adding and working on new content.
It's also one of those sandbox games where you can make your own goals. I've found myself constantly thinking about what I want to change, expand, rebuild, or try differently the next time I play. After more than 500 hours, I'm still planning thousands of more hours on my first map.
If I had one criticism, it would be the economy. Making money has generally been a little too easy, which takes away some of the challenge of building up a mining company from nothing. Recent updates have improved this somewhat, though, and I hope the economy and progression continue getting more depth as development moves forward.
And yes, it's still Early Access. There are bugs, unfinished systems, features still being worked on, and apparently certain pieces of equipment that may arrive at some point. But that's part of why I originally waited before buying it. At this point, I'm very glad I finally jumped in.
For anyone who enjoys heavy equipment, mining, digging, sandbox games, or turning a perfectly good piece of land into an enormous hole for absolutely no good reason, Out of Ore is very easy for me to recommend.
Highly recommended.

Closest I've found to true emulation of real machines. It lets you make mistakes and find out what the consequences are. Fortunately, you can just return them to inventory and reset. It's tricky to start with, but so is jumping into a 988 Cat loader.
