Our Journey
Our adventure began in late 2018 and continues to thrive. By 2023, Out of Ore became our primary focus.
THE BEGINNING
Christian (Execut) and Kristian (T-Bone) start modding for Farming Simulator 2019 by Giants Software, overcoming challenges in 3D modeling. Their shared passion leads to collaboration.
THE MOD ERA
Encouraged by the community, Execut and T-Bone form North Modding Company, marking a new chapter in mod development. They release their first mods on the Farming Simulator ModHub, gaining quick popularity.
BERGSBRUK
In 2020, North Modding Company launched "Bergsbruk" on Steam, our first standalone PC game. At the same time, our Farming Simulator mods hit 30 million downloads, a major milestone.
OUT OF ORE
We decided to halt further development on "Bergsbruk" to concentrate our efforts on a new game, "Out of Ore".
FOCUS ON OUT OF ORE
"Out of Ore" takes center stage, with Farming Simulator modding stepping back.
This shift reflects the company's ongoing development and progress.
REACHING 100,000 SOLD GAMES
"Out of Ore" achieving 100,000 sales, a testament to the incredible support from our community and the passion and dedication of our small team.
About Us
Our team consists of five dedicated team members. Together, we bring a diverse range of skills to the table, covering everything from programming and 3D modeling to texturing, marketing, and economics.

What People Say

this game is fun, just need friends to make it more fun! talk your homies into it!

Out of Ore has the best terrain manipulation I've ever seen within a game. Terrain can level itself out as you're filling a bucket or truck, and while using explosives underground, the terrain will drop to the ground after it's been blown up. Plenty of Vehicles to choose from, down to planning an entire factory. You can even repair specific parts of a vehicle. I've been playing Multiplayer with a friend. Now, I will say if this game didn't have coop, automation or such amazing terrain manipulation, I probably wouldn't be putting so many hours into it because I do have quite a decent amount of complaints. This feels like the game is unfinished and 50% of what a simulator should be.
Don't come to this game thinking it's a realistic simulation with a lot of immersion or a business management. It's more of an arcadey roleplaying sandbox than anything. There's no way you can go bankrupt, there's no bills to pay, you cannot buy land and land is already yours as soon as you start playing. There's nothing that simulates a business in Out of Ore other than mining and selling your materials, even on "Hardcore". The game is easy in every aspect. That's a big disappointment, but the game is still enjoyable nonetheless.
Vehicles are like paper and collision is one of my biggest gripes. Unreal Engine has never been great with its hard collision. If your character gets hit by a vehicle, the vehicle will come to a halt like the character is Superman. While digging with an excavator, the excavator can get thrown around while digging, tipping you over and being forced for you to respawn it. Even the weight of an excavator will make it tip over if, for example, you're digging around it. It's like the devs failed to add counter-weight. This happens with pretty much every vehicle in similar scenarios. Collision/Physics can become too strict sometimes.
You can gain skills when leveling. About all the skills besides gaining experience from quests are pointless IMO. Gain 1% of this and that isn't much and it isn't noticeable whatsoever. Leveling is absurdly slow to the point where you're forced to have it on Fast. Experience gains and Skills make no sense how they're done. Only quests, selling and manually mining with a pickaxe can give you experience. When digging with a vehicle and dumping it into a hopper, you get zero experience. Majority of the game(server) should be removed settings in my opinion and planned out in a better way. For example, fuel consumption should be decently high by default, game shouldn't be on Real Time, but x10 (around 4-5 seconds for 1 in-game minute), etc.
Some of the best vehicles are high level which is fine, but most of the vehicles for sale are either the same with weight differences being the only thing different. There's a lot of duplicate vehicles that sell for the same amount or slightly more, and I've questioned this since I started playing. It's like most loaders, excavators, tunnelers etc. are just fillers. The worst part about all these mining vehicles is the loader is the best one for mining materials early BY FAR. There's no point in buying anything else. It's too easy to dig with vs an excavator that will tip over due to its own weight. Once you unlock the loader with a 10m3+ bucket, you'll never buy any other vehicles unless it's the one Loader up from that.
Conveyors always show pay-dirt material and never changes for any other material. There's not that many automation buildings to choose from. Feels like there's a lot missing with automation, and there's very little to automate. You can easily place an entire factory fairly quick, but what will take a hot minute will be getting the materials (depending on map). Most of what you'll be waiting for is leveling, and that's the most grindy part. My 38+ hours in and I've been digging for 90% of it and the other 10% was placing down buildings/conveyors automating everything in-game.
Cannot change sensitivity for vehicles. This was a huge down-side.
Overall, it's not a super bad game. I'm giving it a thumbs up due to my playtime. It will keep you entertained for awhile, but it's in no way a realistic simulation or a business type game. It's just your freely, do whatever you want sandbox and you'll be digging for 90% of your gameplay.
